Even during the times when Indian players were having very successful phase, Videocon remained only a mediocre brand. It had models which were very competitive on the price front in Indian market but they were not best sellers. It had good presence in the feature phone segment and also in smartphone segment.

Videocon was quite well known brand among value for money Indian consumers as most of the users were in 2G space. In the 3G space also the brand did perform fairly well. It could bring about models with equally good features list but at lower price in India which was key to its success. However with 4G coming in the demand for 2G and 3G models went down. There was heavy competition on price front as well as on features side which it could not cover.

Interestingly Videocon also had tablets in the initial phase but again there was no best selling model. Hence it tried again with more and more models which did not work for long time. There is not much hope it will bring models in 2020 in any format.
