One of the key difference between South Korean brands i.e. Samsung and LG is inability to repeat success in smartphones by LG where as Samsung is still among top sellers in India. Till the onset of 4G there was new models launched by LG but they could not make good impact on end consumers. In very late stage it tried with very niche models like special models for females but that also could not change its fortunes.
3G network period was the main time when LG had best time in smartphone. The price of its models was reasonable though not in the low price segment. However quality wise especially in terms of design they were very impressive. Also the models were quite light in weight but these were not enough factors to make them best sellers in Indian market.
There were tablets also from LG in the market but the models were very selected. Also it could not bring better products than Samsung which was it nearest competitor and hence gradually lost out in the race. In coming period we may see new models in 2022 but again it would not be an aggressive player.
